Terms & conditions

The rules that apply when you use this website or place an order.

Effective date: 26 August 2026

1. About these terms

These terms & conditions set out the rules that apply when you use the GOA Number Plates website or place an order with us. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before completing a purchase.

These terms are intended to be clear and straightforward. They do not remove or reduce any legal rights you have under UK consumer law.

2. About GOA Number Plates

GOA Number Plates is a UK number plate supplier providing road-legal number plates and related plate products. The business contact details published on our contact page are the appropriate details for customer enquiries, orders and complaints.

3. Our products

We manufacture number plates according to the information and specifications you select or supply. Product descriptions, photographs and examples on the website are provided to help you understand the available products and finishes. Minor visual differences may occur between screen images and the finished physical product.

You are responsible for checking that the registration number, plate format, dimensions, finish and other options selected at checkout are correct before submitting an order.

4. Legal number plate requirements

You are responsible for ensuring that the registration number you order is lawfully assigned to the vehicle on which the plate will be displayed, and that the completed vehicle complies with applicable road traffic and number plate requirements.

GOA Number Plates will manufacture plates in accordance with the information provided and the specifications of the product ordered. We do not transfer, assign or sell vehicle registration numbers as part of the plate manufacturing service.

5. Placing an order

An order is submitted when you complete the website checkout process and provide the information required to fulfil the order. Please review your order details before payment, because personalised number plates are manufactured using the information you supply.

We may contact you where information is missing, unclear or appears inconsistent with the order. Production may be paused until the necessary information is confirmed.

6. Order acceptance

Submitting an order does not require GOA Number Plates to accept it in every circumstance. We may decline or cancel an order where there is a genuine reason to do so, including an inability to manufacture the requested product, a pricing or website error, suspected fraudulent activity, or information that prevents lawful fulfilment.

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken and the cancellation is our responsibility, the relevant payment will be refunded.

7. Prices and payment

The price payable is the price displayed for the selected product and options at the time the order is placed, unless there is an obvious pricing or technical error. Any applicable delivery charge will be shown before you complete the purchase.

Payment must be completed using one of the payment methods made available through the website. An order will normally enter production only after payment has been successfully authorised or received. See our payment policy.

8. Personalised and made-to-order products

Number plates are personalised products because they are manufactured using your chosen registration number and selected specifications. Once production has started, cancellation because of a change of mind may not be available where the law provides an exception for personalised or made-to-order goods.

This does not affect any legal remedy available where goods are faulty, incorrectly supplied, not as described or otherwise fail to meet applicable statutory requirements.

9. Delivery

We aim to process and dispatch orders within the timeframe stated on the website or communicated to you. Production time and delivery time are separate stages and may vary depending on the product, order details, payment confirmation and delivery service used.

Once an order has been dispatched, delivery is carried out through the selected or available delivery service. We will take reasonable steps to assist where a delivery is delayed or appears to have been lost. See our shipping & delivery policy.

Unless a different timeframe has been specifically agreed, goods will be delivered within the period required by applicable consumer law.

10. Checking your order on arrival

Please inspect the plate as soon as reasonably possible after delivery. If the item appears damaged, incorrect or defective, contact us promptly with the order details and clear photographs. This helps us investigate and resolve the issue efficiently.

11. Returns, refunds and faulty products

Our return & refund policy explains how cancellations, returns and refunds are handled. It forms part of these terms & conditions.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights concerning faulty, misdescribed, unsuitable or otherwise non-compliant goods.

12. Warranty

GOA Number Plates provides a 24-month commercial warranty on qualifying number plates. The separate warranty policy explains what the warranty covers, what is excluded and how to make a warranty claim.

The commercial warranty is additional to your statutory consumer rights and does not replace them.

13. Customer responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate information, checking the order before payment, using the plate appropriately and ensuring that it is fitted correctly. You must not use a plate in a way that alters its required appearance or compromises its compliance with applicable requirements.

If incorrect information supplied by you results in a plate being manufactured incorrectly, you may be responsible for the cost of producing a replacement, subject always to applicable consumer rights.

14. Website content

We make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and current. However, product availability, photographs, descriptions, prices and other website content may occasionally contain errors or require updates. We will take reasonable steps to correct material errors when identified.

15. Website use

You must not misuse the website, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, introduce malicious software, interfere with its operation, or use the website for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.

16. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, content created for and displayed on the GOA Number Plates website, including branding, logos, graphics, photographs, text and original design material, belongs to GOA Number Plates or is used with appropriate permission. It must not be copied, reproduced or commercially reused without permission.

17. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. In particular, these terms do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory consumer right or responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.

Where we are legally permitted to limit liability, we will only seek to do so to a reasonable extent and in a way that does not unfairly restrict your legal rights.

18. Events outside our reasonable control

We will not be responsible for delay caused by circumstances genuinely outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, major transport disruption, widespread technical failures, industrial action or other events that could not reasonably have been prevented. Where this happens, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect on your order.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms & conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website or legal requirements. The version applying to an order will be the version in force when that order was placed, unless a change is required by law to apply earlier.

20. Complaints and contact

If you have a question, complaint or concern about an order, please contact us using the details on our contact page. We will aim to understand the issue and work with you to reach a fair resolution.

21. Governing law

These terms & conditions are governed by the law applicable in England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from relying on mandatory legal rights available in their place of residence where applicable.

22. Entire agreement

These terms & conditions, together with the relevant product information and the policies referred to within them, form the basis of the agreement between GOA Number Plates and the customer for the relevant order. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
